Abstract
- The performance of a solar assisted localized heating and ventilation system is investigated in a poultry house.
- The heating and ventilation is directed to the microenvironment of the chicken rather than the whole space.
- The localized ventilation system reduced ventilation requirements by 80% and system load by 74% compared to mixed system.
- Coupling the proposed system with a solar heating system saved 84% in the winter flock.
