Abstract
⸠This paper presents a solution for improvement of energy efficiency in buildings by using thermal insulation materials including non conventional materials like Vermiculite and EVA, an ethylene-vinyl acetate. ⸠It is a residue from expanded sheet cuttings in the shoe industry in northeast Brazil and was environmental problem. ⸠The application of these materials in plates coated caused 38% reduction in heat load per square meter when using vermiculite and 41% reduction when using EVA.
