Abstract
•New method of calculating activation energy from modulated TG is proposed.•The amplitude of modulated DTG is proportional to average of DTG and activation energy.•It is shown that the modulated reaction is faster than reaction without modulation.•The average reaction rate depends on the amplitude of the second harmonic of DTG.
Direct analysis method for the modulated thermogravimetry is proposed. The method is based on the Fourier analysis and calculates the activation energy signal for the modulated thermogravimetric measurement. The method produces correct results for the noisy measurements where standard calculation method fails.
