Abstract
⺠A simulation model for shield tunneling is used to model pile-soil interactions. ⺠The embedded pile model allows discretization-independent modeling of pile groups. ⺠Frictional contact along the height of the pile as well as tip resistance is considered. ⺠The pile model can be applied to the modeling of grouted anchors and pipe roofs. ⺠Using GMRES solver with KLU preconditioner provides relative best efficiency.
