Abstract
In this study, the real-time flow characteristics in the IPV were experimentally and numerically investigated. The flow coefficients are modeled with the Boltzmann function in accordance with the flow rate. Finally, a numerical model for the flow rate and pressure difference of the vestibule and the supply room in the IPV was compared with experiments. All results for various angular velocities and initial flow rates predicted the experimental results within standard deviations of 5%. This model can be applied to evaluate the flow characteristics and to design an IPV with improved performance.
