Abstract
► A reheating method was developed to study precipitation processes on cooling. ► A chip based differential fast scanning calorimeter was employed. ► Critical cooling rates of high alloyed aluminum samples can be determined. ► 300 K/s is the critical cooling rate to prevent precipitation for the 7049A alloy.
