Abstract
⺠Pulse Thermal Analysis is used to characterize basic sites at the surface of sol gel-prepared metal fluorides via the exothermicity of the CO2 adsorption. ⺠Basic sites can be created at the surface of the fluorides by alternating the CO2 injections by water pulses. ⺠The exothermal DTA effects of the CO2 adsorption can be used for a quantification, i.e. for a comparison of the basicity of the sites. ⺠The isothermal measuring mode allows to observe very fine details of the sorption process, especially via shape and areas of the DTA effects.
