Abstract
ⶠThis paper focused on the early stages of crystallization in metallic glasses and on the dynamic structure in the vicinity of the glass transition. ⶠMicrostructure investigations as well as calorimetric methods have been applied on two model systems that present rather different thermal stabilities of the glassy state. ⶠThe complementing results are discussed with respect of a possible relationship between dynamic heterogeneities and the earliest stages of crystal formation, particularly for systems that present unusual crystallization kinetics with extremely high nucleation site densities.
