Abstract
⺠In this study, physical model is used to examine the effect of the heating rate and the sample geometry on the apparent specific heat capacity of the Phase Change Material (PCM) during the melting process. ⺠DSC experiments are used to validate the numerical results. ⺠It is found that the heating rate and the PCM geometry have a definitive influence on the DSC thermograms and on the apparent specific heat capacity but seems to have no effect on the latent heat energy calculations.
