Abstract
Thermal decomposition of compounds consisting of tetrahalogenomanganates(II) anions, [MnBrnCl4−n]2− (n = 0–4), and a tetraethylammonium cation has been studied using the DSC and TG techniques. The measurements were carried out in an argon atmosphere over the temperature ranges 173–500 K (DSC) and 300–1073 K (TG). Products of the thermal decomposition were identified by MS, FTIR, Far-FTIR spectroscopy as well as X-ray powder diffractometry.
