Effect of single-crystal plastic deformation mechanisms on the dilatational plastic response of porous polycrystals

► Effect of texture and asymmetry on the response of voided polycrystals is studied. ► Dilatational plastic FFT results and a recent analytic criterion are compared. ► Both approaches reveal unusual features of the dilatational plastic response. ► Yield surfaces are not symmetric and sensitive to the third stress invariant. ► This is due to twinning-related tension-compression asymmetry of the matrix material.
