Abstract
Experimental densities Ï and excess molar volumes VE of one ternary and three binary systems containing 1-butanol, cyclohexylamine and n-heptane at temperatures from 283.15 to 323.15Â K are reported. Density measurements were performed by an Anton Paar DMA 5000 vibrating tube densimeter. The obtained VE of binary systems were fitted to the Redlich-Kister equation, and to the Nagata-Tamura equation for the ternary system. For the correlation of VE data of binary systems van der Waals (vdW1) and Twu-Coon-Bluck-Tilton (TCBT) mixing rules coupled with the Peng-Robinson-Stryjek-Vera (PRSV) equation of state were applied. The same models were applied for the prediction and correlation of VE data of the ternary system. In addition, several empirical relationships were applied for the prediction of VE data of the ternary system from the corresponding binary data. The obtained results have been analysed in terms of specific molecular interactions present in the investigated mixtures taking into considerations the effect of temperature increasing on present interactions.
