Abstract
The phase diagram of magnesium–lead system has been investigated by a new method for phase analysis on the basis of a strong penetrating radiation. The measurements have shown that the standard phase diagram of this system contains inaccuracy in the region of the Mg2Pb intermetallic compound. New data on the temperature dependences of the solid and the melt densities have been obtained. The density change during the phase transitions has been directly measured.
