Abstract
A non-dimensional adiabatic look-up table for predicting two-phase frictional pressure drop multiplier was constructed. A skeleton table made from most well-known six models and correlations was used as a base for the table. The skeleton table was then updated using available experimental data to improve the prediction accuracy and to correct the asymptotic and parametric trends. As the table is non-dimensional data of different fluids for the updating process. The updated table predicts two-phase frictional pressure drop multiplier of 940 experimental data points with an average error of 5.8% and an RMS error of 26.18% compared to average error of −8.33% and RMS error of 45.91% for best correlation used in the study. As a final step, three dimensional weighted smoothing was applied to the updated table.
