A mild and efficient 1,4-addition of thiols and phenols to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds using La(NO3)3·6H2O as a catalyst under solvent-free conditions

A mild and efficient 1,4-addition of thiols and phenols to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds in the presence of La(NO3)3·6H2O under solvent-free conditions at room temperature in excellent yields is described.
