Abstract
Sc(OTf)3 and Yb(OTf)3 have been found to be efficient catalysts for one-pot three-component coupling of aldehydes, ketones or ketoesters and benzyl carbamate in acetonitrile at room temperature to furnish the corresponding Cbz-protected β-amino ketones in impressive yields and good diastereoselectivity.
