Abstract
⺠China's bioenergy policy is at a crossroads. ⺠Trade-offs exist between forest bioenergy policy for urban and rural users in China. ⺠There are strong arguments for focusing forest bioenergy policy on rural areas. ⺠China's rural energy policy should increasingly support modern energy carriers.
