Abstract
⺠Land available for conversion to open pond algae biofuel production is inventoried. ⺠Study area is the coterminous United States. ⺠Availability and a non-market compensation price were calculated for non-urban land. ⺠Both metrics were based on land-derived agricultural income and real estate data. ⺠Excluding productive croplands, large amounts of land (1.0E+6 km2) are available.
