Abstract
⺠The structure and overall quality status of soil can be reliably assessed by visual methods. ⺠Methods applied at different scales were VSA, VESS and M-SQR. ⺠Visual structure scores were clearly associated with the drainage status of soil. ⺠More than 70% of the crop yield variability may be explained by visual scores.
