Abstract
⺠Three preparations of cynara are used: pellets, and crushed stems or the whole plant. ⺠Grinding is evaluated for particle size, densification, moisture and energy requirement. ⺠Tendency to bridge and sieving are evaluated. ⺠The grinding process significantly improves the handling behaviour. ⺠Hairs from capitula originate serious problems. Separating capitula is recommended.
