Abstract
⺠Combustion behavior of CFB chars and charcoal was studied using TGA and COMSOL modeling. ⺠Willow char appeared too reactive to determine its combustion kinetic constants within 400-500 °C. ⺠An Ea value of ca. 60 kJ/mol obtained from DDGS char combustion probably due to the effect of ash. ⺠Ea values obtained from charcoal combustion were accordant with those reported in the literature. ⺠The gas velocity and temperature profiles predicted by COMSOL model agreed well with experimental ones.
