Abstract
⺠Point vibration detection of shallow-buried objects methodology described. ⺠Model shows ground behaves as single-degree-of-freedom system. ⺠Point accelerance measurements relating ground surface vibration to applied force. ⺠Local stiffness, and hence resonance, changes over shallow-buried objects. ⺠Could serve as useful adjunct to conventional methods of buried object detection.
