Abstract

- We analyze the current trends in pipe bursting through a survey of 19 contractors.
- A total of 886 projects from 2007 to 2010 were studied.
- Results reveal that majority of time is spent on planning compared to actual bursting.
- Upsize of pipes greater than 50% of original diameter poses the greatest risks.
- A pipe bursting upsize technical envelope was developed.
