Abstract
The interest of the child is often invoked when it is a decision to be taken for the child. Introduced by the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, it has become a legal reference. It obliges childcare professionals to refer to this notion before making a decision concerning it. This concept is the object of criticism for the benefit of the theory of children's rights.
