Abstract
We present 2 clinical cases of patients with Diogene syndrome. They both had a neurotic mental functioning without any obsessive compulsive disorder. We did not find any physical nor psychiatric pathology, which can explain the syndrome. It seemed interesting to present the study of their intrapsyche working. This study highlights the power and the strength of aging people instinctual movements but also the difficulty to deal with loss. This article allows understanding better the Diogenes syndrome but it also shows his heterogeneity. We can ask ourselves if it really can be individualized as a syndrome.
