Abstract
► This paper confirms that Intra VTA infusions increase food intake. ► Chronic infusions of ghrelin into the VTA increase food intake and body weight gain. ► Ghrelin increases motivation to eat when infused into the VTA. ► Ghrelin antagonist infused into the VTA decrease motivation and intake of preferred food.
