Abstract
⺠Hypothesize benefits of estradiol on cognition are lost in older women due to reduced basal forebrain cholinergic function. ⺠Galanthamine + estradiol improved learning and delay-dependent memory performance in aged ovariectomized rats. ⺠Suggests that combining cholinesterase inhibitor with estrogen therapy can benefit cognition.
