Abstract
► High nutrient concentrations have a deleterious impact on water bodies. ► In this paper microalgae are grown in a controlled environment to reduce nutrient concentrations. ► Four strains of microalgae were tested for the removal of nutrients in MBR permeate. ► A novel microalgae membrane photoreactor (MMR) was developed and tested.
