Abstract
► P4C involves teacher modeling of exploratory talk and students discussing. ► 180 10-year-old children in elementary mainstream classes in Scotland participated. ► Video recording was made of classroom dialog before and seven months after P4C. ► Experimental classes changed, while control classes did not. ► There were more teacher open questions, pupil dialog, and pupil use of reasoning.
