Abstract
⺠P4C involves teacher modeling of exploratory talk and students discussing. ⺠180 10-year-old children in elementary mainstream classes in Scotland participated. ⺠Video recording was made of classroom dialog before and seven months after P4C. ⺠Experimental classes changed, while control classes did not. ⺠There were more teacher open questions, pupil dialog, and pupil use of reasoning.
