Abstract
⺠Teachers need to explicitly teach children to ask and answer questions. ⺠Teachers need to model how to ask thought-provoking questions. ⺠Children who ask thought-provoking questions engage in sustained discussions. ⺠Children use analogies to verbally represent scientific concepts.
