Abstract
⺠We propose a systematic design method using process superstructure optimisation. ⺠Feasibility of the method is demonstrated for an industrial case study. ⺠Detailed rate-based models were used for distillation and membrane separation. ⺠Necessary membrane model parameters were determined successfully by experiments. ⺠Configuration and design were optimised simultaneously using evolutionary algorithm.
