Abstract
The corrosion inhibition mechanism and the mode of adsorption of the synthesized metal complex inhibitors E400S-Cr and E400S-Co on the carbon steel surface in 1 M H2SO4 was studied using electrochemical and quantum chemical studies. They act by adsorption on the metal surface via physical and chemical interactions, which retard both anodic and cathodic reactions. There is a correlation between the chemical structure and inhibition efficiency which confirmed by quantum chemical study.199
