Abstract
The inhibition effect of expired asthalin on mild steel corrosion in 1 M HCl and 1 M H2SO4 was studied by weight loss method and electrochemical method. Examined inhibitor acted as a mixed-type inhibitor. It was shown that, it acts as an excellent corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in acid medium. Langmuir adsorption isotherm exhibited the best fit to the experimental data. SEM result point out the presence of a uniform film over the MS surface.175
