Abstract
The solubility of alpha-benzene hexachloride (α-BHC) in supercritical CO2 was determined at temperatures from 308.15 to 333.15 K and pressures ranging from 10 to 30 MPa. The data presented in this work will help to assess possibility of isolation and determination of trace level α-BHC in bio or environmental matrices. The experiment showed that the solubility (mole fraction) of α-BHC was of the order of 10−4 to 10−7. In this study, an empirical equation was also used to correlate the experimental data, which indicated good agreement between experimental data and the calculated results.
