Abstract
Polyurethanes have potential industrial applications but are electrically insulators. First time in literature, we synthesized and characterized electrochemically active conducting polyurethanes which are moisture curable and forms good films. These are obtained by modification of polyurethane back-bone with tetraaniline. The novelty of the work is that the polyurethanes obtained are conducting to the tune of 10â2-10â3Â S/cm. The polymers can be reversibly oxidized and reduced similar to tetraaniline.
