Abstract
In this study, electromagnetic wave absorbing coating materials were prepared by using nano ferrite and nanosized polyaniline as filler and 2K bisphenol-A epoxy resin as binder. Polyaniline powder (PANI) was synthesized by chemical polymerization method. Coating material was prepared by mixing several ratios of ferrite/polyaniline as nanofiller with an epoxy binder matrix and their microwave absorption capability were compared. In addition, conductivity of the coating was measured by using a dielectric probe kit system with the Cole-Cole method. The microwave absorption measurements were performed by using Transmission/Reflection principle via the waveguide method (S11) in the frequency range of 8-12Â GHz. Dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability measurements were also executed in the same frequency range. The results were compared in terms of electromagnetic wave absorption performance and characteristics. Finally, structural and morphological properties were also investigated. It was found that nanosized ferrite/PANI filled coatings have good electromagnetic absorbing properties. However, the nanosized PANI-filled sample with good conductivity showed superior electromagnetic absorbing performance.
