Abstract
- Surface of α-Fe2O3 was epoxide-functionalized with 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane.
- TEM showed improved dispersion of modified α-Fe2O3 in the epoxy resin.
- Mechanical properties and Tg of composite were significantly improved by incorporation of modified α-Fe2O3.
- The impact strength of modified α-Fe2O3/epoxy resin composite increased significantly.
- The fractured composite showed considerably rougher surface as a result of presence of nanoparticles.
