Abstract
⺠Polyurethane (PU) coatings were synthesized from acetoacteylated polyester (EAA-PE), 4,4â²-methylene diisocyanate (MDI) and benzaldehyde (BNZ) for high performance applications. ⺠The thermo-mechanical properties of the coatings free films were studied by TGA, DMTA, UTM and SEM instrument techniques. ⺠These results indicate that the higher tensile strength and thermal stability for the PU coatings prepared from benzaldehyde modified EAA-PEs and the values increase with increasing the benzaldehyde concentration. ⺠The mechanical properties and flexibility of the BNZ modified PU is higher than the unmodified ones.
