Abstract
► Lead dodecanoate layers on lead. ► We examine three deposition methods and the influence of an initial reduction step. ► We compare electrochemical impedance and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. ► Immersion produces layers with the highest corrosion resistance. ► An initial reduction step improves the quality of the coating and the reproducibility.
