Abstract
► Investigation of scratch characteristics of clearcoats using carwash and nano-scratch tests. ► Clearcoats based on acrylic polyol with butylated melamine and silane modified blocked isocyanates (SMBI). ► The portion of SMBI in clearcoats increases crosslinking network. ► SMBI enhances the scratch resistance of clearcoat due to the formation of urethane and silane bonds.
