Abstract
⺠A generic mathematical model for resource allocation problem for safety upgrades at railroad-highway crossings is proposed. ⺠The proposed mathematical model is easy to modify and can be used by State Departments of Transportation for the resource allocation problem. ⺠The proposed mathematical model, when compared to sorting methods, proves to be more efficient in increasing the safety at railroad-highway crossings.
