Abstract
► Factors related with the risk of crashes involving cyclists have been explored. ► Age, sex, drug use and non-helmet use were cyclist variables related with the risk. ► Aging and alcohol use of the other driver were also related with the risk. ► Bicycles with brake defects and ridden by two occupants were at higher risk.
