Abstract
⺠First study of the effects of the emotional arousal and valence associated with images on driving. ⺠Emotional images have an impact on driving that linger after the image disappears. ⺠Emotional valence and arousal have different impacts on driving; effects also vary in time course. ⺠Image arousal affects hazard RT to sudden lead vehicle braking. ⺠Image valence affects steering performance.
