Abstract
⺠A new modeling paradigm that incorporates crash precursor events is proposed. ⺠The proposed approach to modeling improves representation of crash occurrence. ⺠A Pareto-based estimation of collision likelihood is explained and illustrated. ⺠The proposed paradigm allows integration of statistical and micro-simulation models.
