Safety management by walking around (SMBWA): A safety intervention program based on both peer and manager participation

► This study presents a new practice in safety management called “Safety management by walking around” ► We found that employee participation in safety management increased significantly the amount of safety related feedback in the organization. ► The study demonstrates that a safety oriented information system can create a valuable safety learning mechanism.
