Abstract
⺠Pre-licensed driving was relatively common among these young people. ⺠Pre-licensed driving was more common among males, MÄori, rural residents, and those living in areas of high deprivation. ⺠Prelicensed drivers were more often hazardous alcohol users, cannabis users, and sensation seekers. ⺠The combination of demographic and behavioural characteristics of pre-licensed drivers indicates high crash risk.
