Abstract
⺠We examine the relationship between emotional abilities and driver risk attitudes. ⺠Specific risk attitudes correlate negatively with different emotional abilities. ⺠Reality testing contributed the most to explain differences in women's risk factors. ⺠Among men, reality testing, social responsibility and self-regard contributed significantly. ⺠We conclude that emotional abilities are relevant to explain and predicting risk attitudes.
