Abstract
- Released reducing/complexing leather-specific species can reduce released Cr(VI).
- No co-released species enable the formation of Cr(VI) in solution.
- The major Cr species released from leather in phosphate buffer was Cr(III) (>82%).
- No Cr(VI) was released into artificial sweat.
