Abstract
- This work compares the bacterial deactivation on ceramic filters (CWF) coated with AgNPs and TPA.
- Disinfection with TPA was higher than AgNPs (concentration: 6.25-43.75Â mg/L) in 10% phosphate buffer.
- Bacterial log reduction with TPA coated CWF was 6.2 while for AgNPs coated CWF the value was 4.4.
- Retention of AgNPs and TPA on CWF reached 96% and 97%, respectively.
- Previous data shows TPA is less toxic to human than AgNPs. More toxicological data of TPA is needed.
