Abstract
⺠We studied the flux of 1,3-dichlorobenzene (1,3-DCB) from sediments into water. ⺠1,3-DCB was studied as an individual contaminant and as part of a mixture. ⺠Two advection-dispersion models were tested in different flow conditions. ⺠Tortuosity and related effective diffusivity are good system predictors and descriptors. ⺠The models can predict 1,3-DCB flux adequately in small streams.
